Bruce D. Bradford

Bruce D. Bradford, is a native Washingtonian and a graduate of Cardozo Senior High School.  After his high school graduation he attended Tennessee State University (TSU) in Nashville, Tennessee on a swimming scholarship where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education and a Master of Arts degree in Education. Upon his graduation from TSU, he returned to his home of Washington, DC to begin his professional career as a teacher, coach, mentor, parent and role model.

Dr. Bradford coached varsity football, tennis and swimming for 33 years in DC Public Schools where his teams won many championships and awards. However, Coach Bradford is mostly proud of the successful lives that his athletes are living today after participating in team sports. After his retirement from DC Public Schools, Bradford continued his educational pursuits and earned his Doctorate in Education from Bernelli University in Cecil, Pennsylvania.

Bradford has been the recipient of many awards in athletics and community service; however, he cherishes most his community service as a leader in his church, Allen Chapel AME in Washington, DC.  Additionally, in 2004 Dr. Bradford accepted the position as a health teacher at the Washington Mathematics Science Technology (WMST) Public Charter School in Washington, DC and eventually moved to the administrative position of the Behavioral Intervention/Title IX Coordinator until his last retirement in 2016.

Dr. Bruce Bradford and his wife Patricia have four grown children: Brian, Brandon, Brianna Bradford, and Breena Bradford Blake along with five wonderful grandsons: Solomon, Daniel, Benjamin, Matthew Bradford and August Blake and one precious granddaughter, Gabriella Bradford.
